
Law Is Tied For Fifth After 36 Holes At UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. ā East Carolina sophomore Kate Law carded a second round score of 72 (35-37) and is currently tied for fifth place following second round action at the UCF Challenge. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,349-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club.
Law (139), who started on the tenth hole, shot a 37 on the back nine which consisted of three bogeys (No. 10, No. 12 and No. 15) and three birdies (No. 13, No. 16 and No. 18) before wrapping up the front nine with a 35. In all, she tallied four birdies and four bogeys dropping one spot from opening round action.
Junior Lisa Pettersson fell 22 spots after a 1-over 73 (37-36) and is tied for 40th with a 36-hole score of 145. Pettersson played the back nine at 1-under before posting bogeys on the second and eighth holes to go along with 15 pars. Rounding out the Pirates roster are the freshmen duo of Dorthea Forbrigd (148/t57) and Siranon Shoomee (150/t71) who had rounds of 74 and 75 respectively, and sophomore Catherine Ashworth who is 90th (158).
Sophomore Carley Cox (153), who is playing as an individual, shot a 3-over 75 moving up four spots into a tie for 81st.
Mississippi State (560) fired an impressive 13-under round of 275 to catapult into the top spot and holds a seven-shot lead over No. 14 Miami (567). Host and No. 20 UCF (568) is third followed by No. 50 Clemson (569) and Daytona State College (571). The Pirates fell four spots and are in 14th place with a two-day score of 582.
Final round action gets underway Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (EST).
