
Myhre And Roueche Tabbed January Student-Athletes Of The Month

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Juniors John Myhre and Alicia Roueche of the swimming and diving program have been selected the male and female Student-Athletes of the Month following an outstanding January athletically. The pair has also completed a combined 45 hours of community service so far this academic year.

Myhre posted first-place finishes in the 200 and 100 freestyle against ODU and again versus UMBC. He is only the second swimmer in program history to clock under 1:40 in the 200 freestyle in a dual meet. Myhre was also part of the 200-medley team that produced a school record. He was named the American Athletic Conference Swimmer-of-the-Week Jan. 24th.

Rouche turned in first-place finishes in the one and three-meter dive events against ODU and UMBC. She currently holds NCAA Zone qualifying scores in both disciplines. Rouche was honored as the AAC Diver of the Week Jan. 17th.

The swimming and diving teams are back in action Feb. 15-18 when the Pirates travel to Houston, Texas for the AAC Championship. The men will attempt to record a third-straight team conference title.Â
