ECU Alone In 13th After Two Rounds At The Maxwell

EDMOND, Okla. - The East Carolina men's golf team will enter the third and final round of The Maxwell on Saturday alone in 13th-place after two rounds on Friday at the Oak Tree Golf and Country Club.
As a team, the Pirates finished 50-over-par 610 on the 7,102, par-70 course, with junior Tim Conover posting a team-low 6-over-par 146. Conover fired consecutive rounds of 3-over-par 73 and was one of eight players to record an Eagle Friday.
ECU junior Jackson Spires and freshman Logan Shuping each carded a 36-hole total of 13-over-par, while freshman Blake Taylor fired a 19-over-par 159 and Patrick Stephenson was 20-over-par 160.
Second-ranked Oklahoma State leads the field by two strokes at 7-over-par 567. New Mexico is in second-place at 9-over-par 569 followed No. 13 Oklahoma at 11-over-par, No. 3 Baylor at 19-over-par and Liberty at 23-over-par to round out the top-5 of the 14-team field.
UCLA's Hidetoshi Yoshihara was the lone player to shoot under-par Friday, finishing at 1-under-par 139 and holding a one stroke lead over a foursome of individuals with 10 additional players within three shots of the lead.
