
Field Set For 2017 Pirate Collegiate Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's golf team is set to host the 2017 Pirate Collegiate Classic in Greenville, N.C. on Sept. 25-26 at the par-72, 6,012-yard Greenville Country Club.
The Pirates (6-7), who have claimed the team title the last two years, are joined in the 17-team field by Appalachian State, Arkansas Little Rock, Charleston Southern, Cincinnati, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Longwood, Presbyterian College, South Alabama, The Citadel, Towson, UNC Asheville, USC Beaufort, Western Kentucky, Winthrop and William & Mary.
Since the event began in 2000, the Pirates have claimed five titles (2000-02, 2015-16), finished second four times (2003, 2008-10) and third on three occasions (2004, 2011, 2013).
East Carolina will use a line-up consisting of Kathryn Carson, Carley Cox, Dorthea Forbrigd, Lisa Pettersson and Kate Law. Catherine Ashworth, Siranon Shoomee and Grace Yatawara are playing as individuals and will be teeing off from the ninth and 10th holes.
The two-day, 54-hole event will have 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. on both days. Pirate fans can catch all the live action by logging onto www.Golfstat.com.
