
Gold Edges Purple In Annual Intrasquad Meet

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The gold team edged the purple squad, 208-206, in the annual ECU swimming and diving intrasquad meet Friday afternoon at Minges Natatorium.
The two teams combined to set five meet records, including three relay marks with John Myhre and Gustavo Santos contributing to each of the men's relay records in the 200 medley relay as well as the 200 freestyle relay.
Myhre and Santos were joined by freshman Jacek Arentewicz and senior Boleck DePawlikowski in the 200 medley, while Victor Martins Dos Santos and Gavin Erdmann accompanied them in the 200 freestyle.
Seniors Julie Lajoie and Vendela Norrman each set individual records for the women with Lajoie establishing a new mark in the 200 IM and Norrman in the 200 breaststroke.
The third relay record to fall came courtesy of the women's 200 freestyle relay foursome of Logan Graumann, Erin Polich, Catherine Johnson and Tori Angermeier.

"Great first meet" ECU Head Coach Matt Jabs said. "I asked the team for energy and racing and that's what we saw. We still have a ways to go but I am excited by the potential I see in this team."
