Pirate Swimmers Among The Nation's Fastest

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- ECU has a pair of swimmers ranked among the Top 30 individual competitors in NCAA Division I with two more student-athletes ranked in the Top 65 of the latest Collegeswimming.com rankings.

Sophomore Jacek Arentewicz is ranked 21^st in the 200 breaststroke (2:01.11) and 29^th in the 100 breaststroke (55.73). Named The American Male Swimmer-of-the-Week on Oct. 16, Arentewicz owns the fastest times in the conference in both events.

Freshman Marek Osina, who was voted The American Male Swimmer-of-the-Week following the opening meet of 2018-19, ranks 30^th in the 200 backstroke (1:48.16). Osina has finished first in all six individual events he has competed in this season as well as both relays.

Freshman Mariana Vignoli and junior Gustavo Santos both rank just outside the Top 50 in their respective events. Vignoli owns the 54^th fastest time in the women's 1000 freestyle (10:09.99) and Santos is 65^th in the men's 100 butterfly (49.23).

The Pirates continue their dual meet season Saturday, Oct. 27, against UNCW at Seahawk Natatorium.
