GREENVILLE, N.C. – ECU takes to the floor inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum for the final time this weekend, hosting American Athletic Conference opponents Memphis and Tulane.

The Pirates dropped a five-set match at USF and fell in three at No. 22 UCF in their most recent two outings and look for their first win since defeating Temple 3-1 back on Oct. 7. ECU owns a 12-14 overall record and 4-11 mark in AAC play - tied with Memphis for ninth place and a match back of Connecticut (5-10).

Sophomore right side Bri Wood, who posted a career-high 17 kills against Wichita State Nov. 4, leads the Pirates with 216 kills while sophomore outside hitter Sydney Kleinman has notched 209 kills of her own. Junior defensive specialist Maggie Hallow has collected a team-best 399 digs (4.24) per set and is 23 away from tying for 10th place on the program single-season list.

ECU is 2-5 at home in AAC play with wins over Houston and SMU as well as losses to Cincinnati, UCF, USF, Tulsa and Wichita State.

Last Time Out
ORLANDO, Fla. – ECU closed its weekend with a 3-0 (17-25, 16-25, 23-25) loss to No. 22 UCF in Orlando. Sophomores Bri Wood and Sydney Kleinman led the Pirates (12-14, 4-11 AAC) with eight kills each while Wood collected a team-high 10 digs. Briana Garcia notched 12 kills for the Knights (24-3, 15-0 AAC) and Jordan Pingel notched 12 digs. With 27 assists, sophomore setter Shelby Martin moved into ninth place on the program career chart with 1,482 assists. UCF out-hit ECU .340 to .198 as well as holding advantages in digs (48-43) and total blocks (5.5-3.0).

Looking At Memphis
Memphis has lost its last four matches, including a three-set decision (17-25, 24-26, 9-25) in its most recent outing at Temple. The Tigers are 11-16 overall and 4-11 in AAC play. Hannah Flowers and Kelsea Bivins have combined for 670 of Memphis' 1,277 kills while Kaitlyn Gehler leads the defensive efforts with 367 digs (3.78 per set). The Tigers rank fourth in the league in aces per set (1.28). Memphis is 1-5 on the road in conference matches with losses at Tulsa, Wichita State, Temple, SMU and Houston and a five-set victory at Connecticut.

Scouting Tulane
Tulane carries an 11-match winning streak into their Friday night contest at Cincinnati. The Green Wave started AAC play at 0-4 but have not lost since defeating Memphis 3-1 back on Oct. 5. Tulane runs a very balanced offense with five players averaging at least 2.09 kills per set. Erika Hansel leads the way with 267 kills while Lexie Douglas is close behind with 265. Defensively, Kaylie McHugh averages a team-best 4.40 digs per set (484) and Dayna Kern is putting up 1.25 blocks per set. As a team, the Green Waves leads the American Conference in opposing hitting percentage (.149) and is second in the league in blocks per set (2.56).

The Memphis Series
Memphis won a delay-filled marathon of a contest over ECU earlier this season in five sets to take a 21-8 lead in the all-time series. The Pirates have won five of the last eight encounters overall and are 4-10 against the Tigers in Greenville.

The Tulane Series
Tulane defeated ECU 3-1 earlier this season in New Orleans and leads the all-time series by a 19-5 count. The Pirates knocked off the Green Wave in five sets in Greenville last season. ECU is 4-8 against Tulane in matches played inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
