GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's basketball team (15-12, 7-7) will host the Temple Owls (10-17, 2-12) on Senior Day this Saturday at 1 p.m. in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. The Pirates will honor Thais Oliveira, Tania Pierre-Emile and Mickayla Sanders as the team's three seniors prior to tip-off. The first 250 students in attendance will receive a free PeeDee bobblehead.

The purple and gold are 11-4Â at home this season and have won five-straight contests in Minges Coliseum. The Pirates are second in the American Athletic Conference in steals per game, averaging 11.1. The Pirates lead the conference in offensive rebounding with 418 on the season, an average of 15.5 per game

Freshman Ariyana Williams is averaging an ECU team-best 9.1 points per game. Senior Thais Oliveira is second on the team in scoring with 8.6 points per contest. Oliveira is tied with junior Salita Greene as the team's leading rebounder at 5.9 per game. In conference play, freshman Lashonda Monk is averaging a team-high of 9.0 points and 3.5 assists. Junior Alex Frazier is averaging 8.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists in AAC play.

Temple enters the game in 12th place in the conference standings. The Owls two AAC victories have come against SMU and Tulsa, both at home. Temple is led by Tanaya Atkinson, who is the AAC's top-scorer, averaging 21.0 points per game. Freshman Mia Davis is second on the team to Atkinson in scoring at 11.6 and rebounding at 7.5 per game. Head coach Tanya Cardoza became the program's all-time winningest coach in school history on Jan. 1, 2017.

Saturday's contest marks the sixth meeting between the two teams that have only met in AAC play. The Pirates trail in the series 1-4, while ECU head coach Heather Macy holds the same record. ECU's lone victory over Temple came in the conference tournament on March 7, 2015, when the Pirates defeated the Owls 77-72 in the first round.
