Track And Field Treks To NC State For Raleigh Relays

GREENVILLE, N.C. – After opening its outdoor season at the Weems Baskin Invitational last weekend, the ECU track and field program makes the short trip over to NC State March 30-31 for the Raleigh Relays.
The meet is scheduled to begin Friday morning with the women's 5,000-meter run and will conclude at approximately 4:45 p.m. Saturday with the men's 4x400 relay.
Admission to the Raleigh Relays is free for all fans. Free parking is available in the Reynolds Coliseum Deck, which is located at Jenson Dr. Raleigh, NC 27607.
Over 120 NCAA programs will be represented at the meet, as well as professional athletes and high school competitors.
The Pirates captured four event titles and produced 12 top-three finishes last weekend, highlighted by junior Courtney Warner's performance in the 100-meter dash. Her time of 11.49 is currently eighth in the NCAA East Region and third in the American Athletic Conference. Galissia Cause (shot put), Dean Abushouk (5,000m) and Neil Blanken (discus) also topped the field in their respective events.
Abushouk and junior Ryan Davis currently own the top mark in the American Conference in the 5,000m and hammer.
Following this weekend's meet, ECU will host the Bill Carson Invitational April 6-7 at Minges Family Field at Bate Foundation Track & Field Facility. Teams scheduled to compete include Charlotte, The Citadel, Coastal Carolina and Troy.
