ORLANDO, Fla. – B.J. Taylor scored 17 points and A.J. Davis scored 14 and sixth-seeded UCF (19-12) defeated 11th-seeded ECU (10-20) 66-52 in an American Athletic Conference Championship first round game Thursday night at the Amway Center.

UCF went on an 18-1 run over a 6:21 stretch in the second half to pull away. B.J. Tyson hit a 3 to cut the Pirates' 14-point deficit to one, 46-45, with 9:36 to play. Their next basket came with 1:12 remaining in the contest.
