GREENVILLE, N.C. — ECU Head Basketball Coach Joe Dooley announced the addition of prep guards Tyler Foster (Baltimore, Md.) and Tae Hardy (Decatur, Ga.) to the 2018-19 roster Wednesday
Â
Foster (6-5, 170) spent the 2017-18 campaign at Mount Zion Prep in Baltimore after beginning his high school career at Gillman School (Md.). Foster concluded his high school career at Midd-West High School (Middleburg, Pa).
Â
"Tyler provides us some length on the wing," Dooley said. "He's an athletic player with good size. He's been well-coached and played in some good high school programs. I think he'll add some skill play that we need on the perimeter."
Â
Hardy (6-3, 195) attended Believe Sports Academy in Athens, Tenn. this past season after graduating from Miller Grove (Ga.) High School. As a senior in 2016-17, he was named Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Class 5A North Player-of-the-Year as well as Atlanta Journal-Constitution Dekalb County Player-of-the-Year. The publication also tabbed him with Class 5A all-state distinction.
Â
"I really liked Tae's size and versatility," Dooley explained. "His coaches constantly talked about his toughness and versatility and those things really sold us on him. I like his upside. He can really push it in transition and gives us some needed depth in the backcourt."
Â
The duo joins early signees forward Jayden Gardner (Wake Forest, N.C.), forward Rico Quinton (Newbern, Tenn.) and guard DeShaun Wade (Charlottesville, Va.).
