
Kirkpatrick And Cause Named May Student-Athletes Of The Month

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Senior RHP Davis Kirkpatrick of the baseball team and senior thrower Galissia Cause of the track and field program have been selected the male and female Student-Athletes of the Month following an outstanding May athletically.

Kirkpatrick appeared in nine games out of the bullpen in May, striking out nine batters in 11.1 innings of work. He did not allow an earned run and completed two saves. He recorded the save in the American Athletic Conference Championship title game, tossing two scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts.

Cause won the discus title at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships as well as claiming second in the shot put with a school-record effort. She secured eighth place in the shot put at the NCAA East Preliminary, earning a trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Combined, the pair completed 34.5 hours of community service during the 2017-18 academic year.
