
Burleson And White Named February Student-Athletes Of The Month

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Sophomores Alec Burleson of the baseball team and Christina White of the lacrosse program have been selected the Student-Athletes of the Month for February following an outstanding month of competition.

Two-way standout Burleson compiled a 2.25 earned run average, 2-0 record and 14 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched on the mound while posting a .588 batting average with 20 hits, seven runs scored, 10 RBI, four doubles and two home runs in leading ECU to a 6-3 record in February. He also turned in a perfect fielding percentage, notching 31 putouts and seven assists. Burleson was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week Feb. 25. Â

White backstopped the Pirates to a 4-1 record in February to start the program's second season in existence. She was tabbed the AAC Defensive Player of the Week twice and broke the school record for saves in a game on two occasions. White ranked first in the nation in total saves, 13th in saves per game and 21st in save percentage.

The pair has completed 43 hours of community service thus far during the 2018-19 academic year.
