
Pirates Win Six Events During Split Squad Weekend

GREENVILLE, N.C. – With the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships looming in less than a month, the ECU track and field program split up to attend a pair of meets over the weekend – the Pickle Field Day Relays at Mount Olive College and the Aggie Invitational at North Carolina A&T State University.

In Mount Olive, the distance runners were featured as Lindsay Yentz captured the 800-meter run in a time of 2:24.32 as well as second in the 1,500-meter run in 4:54.13. Rebecca Fleischer also won her event, crossing the finish line in the 5,000-meter run in 19:19.22.
Evan McCracken won the shot put with a mark of 16.96 meters while Neil Blanken came in second at 14.61 meters. Blanken also took second place in both the discus (48.65m) and hammer (49.41m). Kourtney Edwards-Campbell picked up event titles in the discus (49.90m) and hammer (55.34m) while Tavia Ranger placed second in the discus (45.69m). Say'eh Campbell also finished second in the javelin at 38.14 meters.Â

Over in Greensboro, Bria Stith posted a mark of 12.05 meters in the triple jump to claim first place. Rachel Breasseale took third in the high jump, clearing 1.60 meters, and Alyssa Sandy advanced to the finals of the 100-meter hurdles event – finishing fourth with a time of 13.79.

The Pirates will head across the state to Durham next weekend for their final regular season outdoor meet at the Duke Invitational.
