
Taylor Named To The American All-Conference Team

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Junior Blake Taylor was named to the 2019 American Athletic Conference Men's Golf All-Conference Team on Wednesday, earning all-league accolades for the second consecutive season, as voted upon by the 10 American Athletic Conference head coaches.
Taylor tied for 10th at The American Championship last week after carding a 54-hole score of 3-over-par 216 (73-71-72) to become the first Pirate to finish in the Top-10 since 2016. The Atkinson, N.C. native posted five Top-10 finishes during the season with three third-place finishes. He led the team with a 71.97 strokes per round average and shot par or better in nearly 50 percent of his rounds (17 of 35).
Taylor posted two of the five lowest rounds on the team this season, shooting 5-under-par 67 in rounds one and two at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. He also finished the year with the lowest tournament score on the squad with a 13-under-par 203 at the same event.
He joins former ECU golfer Wes Conover as the only two-time American all-conference selection.
