Pirates Add Contest At VMI
September 02, 2019 | Soccer
GREENVILLE, N.C. – In an effort to make up games, the ECU soccer team will travel to Virginia Military Institute for a 1 p.m., contest on Sunday, September 8. Â
"We were happy to find an opponent who was able who able to make it work with our open dates," said head coach Jason Hamilton. "After losing two games on our schedule, it was very important to find a make-up game to help us prepare for conference play. These road games give us an opportunity to get out of our comfort zone and challenge our team."
ECU was originally scheduled to play at Hampton on Sunday, but that game was cancelled earlier this season. The Pirates also had its home opener against George Mason washed out after 45 minutes of play.
ECU will be back home on Thursday night when the Pirates play host to UNC Wilmington. Kick off for that game is scheduled for 7 p.m., with free admission for all fans.
