GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina puts its seven-match winning streak on the line Wednesday night at 7 p.m. when Campbell comes calling for an in-state showdown inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. Admission is free of charge.

The Pirates, off to their best start in program history at 11-1, won three matches last weekend, defeating N.C. Central at home before knocking off Gardner-Webb and 2018 postseason participant Alabama A&M in Boiling Springs. Senior middle blocker Toya Osuegbu set the program single-match record for hitting percentage with a .833 performance against NCCU while junior outside hitter Sydney Kleinman tallied a career-high 22 kills in the five-set victory over the Bulldogs.

Junior right side Bri Wood, who sports a team-high seven double-doubles, has recorded 158 kills (3.29 per set) and is fourth in the American Athletic Conference with a .338 attacking percentage. Kleinman is putting up 3.43 kills per set (137 total) and is hitting .258. Defensively, redshirt junior libero Brandee Markwith paces the squad with 235 digs (4.90 per set) while Osuegbu checks in at 0.91 blocks per set (43 total).

As a team, ECU is averaging 13.56 kills, 12.42 assists, 1.54 aces, 15.58 digs and 1.97 blocks per set with a .260 hitting percentage.

East Carolina's seven-match winning streak is the longest for the program since the Pirates opened the 2016 campaign with 10-straight victories. ECU is undefeated at home in 2019, capturing wins over George Washington, Norfolk State, USC Upstate and N.C. Central. The Pirates have also won their most non-conference matches (11) in a single season since 1997.

Scouting Campbell
Campbell owns a 6-6 overall record, dropping two of three matches last weekend at the Colorado Classic in Boulder. The Camels defeated UMBC in three sets before falling to Oakland in four and the host Buffaloes in three. In terms of common opponents, Campbell lost to Mercer 3-1 and picked up a pair of wins in a home and home series with N.C. Central. Sarah Colla has handled a majority of the offensive load for the Camels, averaging 4.19 kills per set (176) with a .253 hitting percentage. As a team, Campbell is putting up 12.10 kills, 10.90 assists, 1.55 service aces, 14.64 digs and 1.83 blocks per set with a .202 hitting percentage. Greg Goral is in his seventh season as the program's head coach.

The Campbell Series
East Carolina leads the series with Campbell by a 34-9 count and has won six of the last nine meetings. In the teams' most recent encounter, the Pirates won a five-set decision in Buies Creek on Sept. 10, 2016. East Carolina is 14-4 against Campbell in Greenville.
