
Nearly Five Dozen ECU Student-Athletes Set To Graduate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Nearly five dozen former and current East Carolina University student-athletes are set to receive their degrees as part of the institution's spring commencement on Friday, May 8, recognizing both spring and summer graduates completing bachelor's and master's degree requirements.
ECU will celebrate the Class of 2020 with a virtual commencement ceremony at 10 a.m., which will be posted on the university's official commencement website.

Seven student-athletes earned a bachelor's degree in the field of communication, six in public health and five in university studies with a total of 22 different majors represented amongst the 54 undergraduate recipients. A pair of master's degrees were also completed.

The most recent NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data released in October 2019, indicated that ECU student-athletes are achieving academic success at a high level after posting a record 86 percent graduation rate, an increase of two percentage points from the previous all-time high of 84.
Education leader Dr. Lynn M. Gangone will deliver the keynote address for more than 5,000 spring graduates and their families, friends and supporters. The Class of 2020 includes the recipients of 3,860 undergraduate degrees and 1,201 graduate and doctoral degrees.
