Rosters Announced For Purple-Gold World Series

Purple-Gold World Series Rosters
GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina baseball team officially announced its Purple-Gold World Series rosters for the upcoming three-game intra-squad series, which will begin Friday, Nov. 5 at 3:30 p.m. at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium. Prior to the draft, eighth-year head coach Cliff Godwin named sophomore Zach Agnos (Purple) and junior Ryder Giles (Gold) as team captains.

The Pirates, who began team practice in September, will play the first of three seven-inning intra-squad scrimmages Friday, followed by game two on Saturday (10:50 a.m.) and game three Sunday (12 Noon). Admission is free to all Pirate fans for the weekend series.

The Purple team will consist of Agnos, Quinn Allen, Joey Berini, CJ Boyd, Skylar Brooks, Carter Cunningham, Landon Ginn, Josh Grosz, Jake Hunter, Nick Logusch, Ryan McCrystal, Josh Moylan, Luke Nowak, Eric Ritchie, Ben Terwilliger, Justin Wilcoxen, Jaden Winter, Bryson Worrell and Trey Yesavage.

Gold will be represented by Allen, Danny Beal, Merritt Beeker, Cam Clonch, Ayden Edwards, Giles, Lane Hoover, Jacob Jenkins-Cowart, Ryley Johnson, Jake Kuchmaner, Jordan Little, Wyatt Lunsford-Shenkman, Alec Makarewicz, C.J. Mayhue, Ben Newton, Joey Rezek, Garrett Saylor, Carter Spivey, Jacob Starling, Carson Whisenhunt and Bradley Wilson.

Godwin, who will serve as the commissioner, has indicated that Gold will be the home team for games one and three and will occupy the third base dugout. Logusch and Saylor will to the rubber for game one, Beeker and Hunter will go game two, while Grosz and Kuchmaner will close out the series in game three.

On Sunday, Nov. 7, ECU will hold its annual Meet the Pirates event with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. Following the scrimmage, Coach Godwin, his staff and players will participate in an autograph session to be held in the team dugouts. A special American Athletic Conference Championship pennant poster will be available for pickup prior to the team autograph session.
