It's been a busy month around ECU Athletics with preparations for a bowl game ongoing, season tickets for baseball and football on sale, and both basketball teams wrapping up non-conference action.

2022 Campaign; End of Year Giving
The Pirate Club and ECU Athletics are excited to launch a comprehensive fundraising campaign in 2022 to support multiple initiatives including facility enhancements. A part of the campaign, an Athletics Excellence Fund, was created by the Pirate Club to directly impact our student-athletes and their experience at ECU. Funds will be used to provide resources and support for education, nutrition, recruiting, travel, facilities maintenance, student-athlete development and operational needs.

Get your 2022 Football Season Tickets
Fans can make a deposit now on 2022 football season tickets. We will have seven home games in 2022, highlighted by the season-opener against NC State and an attractive home conference schedule. AAC teams to visit Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium include Houston, UCF, Navy and Memphis. Campbell and Old Dominion wrap up the home slate.

Deposits are $100 per seat and will be applied towards an individual's season ticket purchase. Fans can utilize ECU's Online Ticket Center or can also reserve their tickets by phone or by visiting the box office at Minges Coliseum to make purchases. Any individual placing a deposit will be contacted by the ECU Athletics Ticket office in January to finalize their order.

Purple and Gold to take over Annapolis
We can't wait to see Pirate Nation in Annapolis for the Military Bowl on Dec. 27. We have sold just over 5,100 tickets for the game through our ticket office and expect that number to climb this week.

The Pirate Club and ECU Athletics will host two events in Annapolis leading up to kickoff on Dec. 27. Festivities begin with a Welcome Reception on Sunday, Dec. 26 in the Atrium at the Graduate Hotel. Pirate fans will be joined by the ECU Marching Pirates along with the cheer and dance squads. Admission is free and includes complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.

Gameday will begin with The Military Bowl Official Tailgate Festival on Monday, Dec. 27 beginning at 11:00 a.m. The tailgate will be held in the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium Blue Lot. Food and beverages from local establishments will be available for purchase. Please plan on joining us as we take over Annapolis.

Pirate Club Executive Committee
I am thankful and appreciative of the service of Glenn Hall as outgoing Executive President of the Pirate Club over the last two years. Glenn and his family are passionate about ECU Athletics and have provided tremendous support and guidance with the Pirate Club.

The Pirate Club Executive Committee held its final meeting of 2021 earlier this month in the TowneBank Tower. During the meeting, new officers and members were elected to begin serving in 2022. Tony Cannon, General Manager/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Greenville Utilities Commission, was elected as Executive President. Greenville Utilities with Tony's leadership have been ardent supporters of ECU Athletics and the Pirate Club. Sean Smith of Charlotte will serve as Executive Vice President. We are looking forward to working with Tony and Sean.

Bob Lucas (Selma) – President & Managing Attorney at Lucas, Denning & Ellerbe, P.A., past member of the ECU Board of Trustees
Carl Rogers (Wrightsville Beach) – Former Executive President of the Pirate Club, Former President of Dubose National Energy Services, Inc.
Richard Twilley (Davidson) – Group Vice President at Spectrum Enterprise
Sandra Warren (Washington) – Founder & Owner of Executive Personnel Group

We are looking forward to working with all the new members to move ECU Athletics and the Pirate Club forward.

Hoops getting ready for AAC play
Following today's doubleheader, both men's and women's basketball teams will begin preparation for conference play. The men will host Wichita State on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. in Minges Coliseum. Congratulations to senior forward Vance Jackson for earning AAC Player of the Week honors after scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds in the Pirates' win over North Carolina A&T. The Pirates enter today's game 7-0 inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.

Women's head coach Kim McNeill and the Pirates travel to SMU on Jan. 1 before returning home to face UCF on Jan. 8. The Pirates earned their first road win of the season on Sunday with a 79-50 victory at UNCW. Junior guard Taniyah Thompson tallied a career-high 31 points, her fifth game with at least 20 points this season. She leads the AAC in points per game with 17.2.

Baseball Season Tickets on Sale
Baseball season is right around the corner and season tickets are currently on sale with more than 500 tickets already sold. The Pirates open the 2022 season by playing host to Bryant on Feb. 18-20.

The Pirates were selected No. 8 in Collegiate Baseball's Fabulous 50 Preseason Poll, the publication announced yesterday. 2021 season ticket holders should be receiving their renewal applications. Fans can also utilize ECU's Online Ticket Center, reserve by phone or visit the ticket box office in the meantime to make purchases by the January 10th deadline.
