GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina returns home for its final weekend of American Athletic Conference play, hosting Temple for a pair of matches March 12-13 inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.

Friday's contest, slated for 4 p.m., will be streamed live via ESPN+ with Dean Linke and Taylor Leath on the call. Saturday's affair, set for Noon, can be seen through Pirates All-Access.

The Pirates fell to AAC East Division-leading UCF twice in Orlando last weekend and enter the series with the Owls at 2-6 overall and 0-6 in league matches. ECU did pick up a set win in Saturday's encounter, winning its first frame against the Knights since 2017.

Senior pin hitters Sydney Kleinman and Bri Wood pace the offensive efforts for East Carolina, combining for 204 kills with respective 3.50 and 3.30 kills per set averages. Wood sits just eight kills away from 1,000 for her career and would be the ninth player in program history to reach the milestone.

On the defensive end of things, senior libero Camryn Allen tops the squad with 129 digs (4.30) while redshirt sophomore middle blocker S'mara Riley checks in with 36 total blocks (1.20 per set) – good for third in the American Conference statistical rankings.

As a unit, the Pirates are putting up 11.63 kills, 11.03 assists, 1.03 aces, 17.53 digs and 2.13 blocks per set with a .177 hitting percentage. ECU is fourth in the league in digs per set.

A Look At Temple
Temple brings a 7-4 overall record and 1-3 American Conference mark to Greenville. The Owls most recently defeated Connecticut in four sets at home back on March 7. Temple has only played two matches outside of Philadelphia, splitting a pair of league meetings with South Florida in Tampa Feb. 12-13.

Gem Grimshaw and Miray Bolukbasi have each pounded out 136 kills while Falanika Danielson leads the Owls with 214 digs (5.63 per set). Additionally, Taylor Davenport is averaging exactly one block per set. Temple is producing 13.09 kills, 11.88 assists, 1.19 aces, 15.98 digs and 1.77 blocks per set with a .218 hitting percentage.
