GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team returns home this week to host the 2021 Pirate Collegiate Classic at the Greenville Country Club Sept. 20-21.

The two-day, 54-hold event will include the Pirates along with Cincinnati, Charleston Southern, Citadel, High Point, Marshall, Radford, Townson, UNC Asheville, and Winthrop. Play begins Monday morning at 8:15 a.m. followed by the second round.

The Pirates have claimed each of the four previous Pirate Collegiate Classic titles since ECU moved its annual fall tournament to the Greenville Country Club in 2016. The tournament was not contested in 2018 due to weather or 2020 due to the global pandemic.

ECU head coach CC Buford will field a line-up consisting of Oda Sofie Kilsti, Kathryn Carson, Andrea Miralles Llopis, Riley Hamilton and Macie Burcham. Caroline Hermes will play as individual. Hermes finished in fourth place when the event was last held in 2019, while Carson tied for 19th place.

The Pirates are coming off a third-place finish at the Golfweek Fall Challenge where they posted a 54-hole score of 15-over-par 867. Julie Boysen Hillestad, who is unable to compete this week, captured third place with a score of 3-under 210, while Kilsti tied for sixth place at par-213.
