GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team hits the road to take on the George Mason Patriots on Thursday at EagleBank Arena. The game is set for a 7 p.m. tipoff on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Pirates enter the contest after splitting a pair of games in an exciting weekend of basketball at the Cavalier Classic in Charlottesville, Va. It was the Brittany Franklin show in game one as the forward recorded a double-double in only 11:40 played to provide a spark against Liberty. Alexsia Rose put up 18 points, including a trio of threes as well as the Pirates went on to take game one. Sunday's game against Virginia was a tougher task and though ECU kept it close through a half, the Cavaliers pulled away in the second half.

Scouting the Patriots
The Patriots enter the game at 3-5 on the season. Their record, however, is a bit misleading as they have played a challenging schedule featuring road contests with Maryland and Pitt as well as a neutral site game with LSU. Mason's three wins all came at home and were done consecutively. Since the win streak, however, the team dropped two in a row in their Thanksgiving trip to the Bahamas, most recently falling in a tight contest to UAB.

Taylor Jameson had led the way so far this season with 14.4 points per contest for the Patriots while also collecting just under four rebounds per. Nalani Kaysia leads that category with 6.1 boards per game.

Series History
East Carolina and George Mason have played plenty over the years with the Pirates holding a 26-21 advantage dating back to 1980. The teams have not met since 2013, however, and as such have never faced off in the coach Kim McNeill era.
