GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team returns home to face the Virginia Commonwealth Rams on Sunday at Minges Coliseum. The game is set for a 2 p.m. tipoff on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Pirates enter the contest after a tough road trip to Fairfax, Va. where the team dropped a low-scoring battle with George Mason. In the game, the Patriots jumped out early, leading 17-7 through a quarter played, and never relinquished their lead. ECU did make a run in the fourth quarter, 9-0, to briefly cut the lead to single digits, but was unable to capitalize further.

Scouting the Rams
The Rams enter Sunday with a 3-5 roller coaster of a record. After opening with a win over Lafayette, the Rams dropped three-straight before rebounding with a 2-1 trip to the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands which included wins over Seton Hall and Wisconsin. Last time out, however, VCU dropped a tight home contest with James Madison, 62-60.

Virginia Commonwealth is statistically a team led by one high scorer and a strong supporting cast. Sara Te-Biasu leads the way at 16.0 points per game but gets support from four teammates scoring more than five per contest. A three-lever scorer, Te-Biasu is shooting over 40 percent from the field and right around 30 percent from deep on the season.

Series History
East Carolina and VCU have met 28 times in their history, with ECU holding a 15-13 margin dating back to 1991. In the McNeill era, though, the teams have met three times with VCU taking two of the three, including the last game, a season ago in Richmond where the Pirates fell 65-48.
