Pirates Prep For AAC Outdoor Championships In Wichita

GREENVILLE, N.C. – After a few weeks of practice and recovery, the East Carolina track and field program is set to compete at the 2022 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at Cessna Stadium in Wichita, Kan.

The meet is scheduled for May 13-15 and will be streamed live via ESPN+.

"Both teams are extremely excited to compete at the AAC Outdoor Championships this weekend in Wichita," Director of Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Curt Kraft said. "The one thing that has remained constant throughout the entire spring is that both teams have competed with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. We have worked extremely hard to get to this point of the season. This is the one meet you would really like everyone to peak and compete at their best. We have had a good season up until this point, and there's no reason to believe that the kids will not go into this meet and complete their hearts out. We have multiple goals for this weekend. Hopefully we can obtain and meet all of those goals."

The Pirates were last in action April 22-23 at both the Virginia Challenge and USC Open where they won six events and produced 11 top-10 program times and marks.
