
ECU Opens Season At Rod Myers Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina men's golf team will open its 2022-23 season this weekend when the Pirates complete in the 12th Annual Rod Myers Invitational at the Duke Golf Club. Play will begin with 36 holes of continuous play on Saturday (Sept. 11), followed by a single round on Sunday (Sept. 12).
Play will begin with a 9:15 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday followed by scheduled tee times commencing at 7:35 a.m. on Sunday. Pirate fans can follow all the action online by clicking here.

Joining host Duke and the Pirates in the 13-team field are Alabama, Charlotte, Florida Gulf Coast, Liberty, Loyola (Md.), Missouri, North Florida, Penn State, Princeton, UNC Greensboro, UNCW and Virginia Tech.

Kevin Williams, who is in the second year of his second stint with the Pirates, served as the Pirates' head coach from 1995-2005 before exclusively taking over the head coaching duties of the ECU women's program, which he started from scratch in 2000, the following year. He returned last year guiding the Pirates to three top six placement which included third place finish at the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley.

The Pirates will use a roster consisted of three underclassmen and a pair of upperclassmen. Freshman Philip Linberg Bondestad earned the No. 1 spot through multiple rounds of qualifying. Graduate student Stuart Fuller garnered the second spot followed by freshman Lucas Augustsson, sophomore Carter Busse and graduate student Connor Jones.
