GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team hosts the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Minges Coliseum.

Last Time Out
The Pirates dropped a heartbreaker at SMU last time out. After trailing by as many as 18, ECU used its pressure defense to claw back into the game, leading by as many as three before falling narrowly in overtime, 68-66. Danae McNeal was dominant in the second half and OT, scoring 22 of her 26 points, including 15 in the third quarter alone.

Scouting the Mustangs
Cincinnati enters Wednesday's contest hunting their first conference win at 0-4 thus far in AAC play. The Bearcats are 7-10 overall having lost five straight. The team's last three opponents are conference foes who ECU has already met in Temple, SMU and Memphis. The Bearcats enter Wednesday with a 3-5 record away from home on the year.

The Bearcats are led by Jillian Hayes and Mya Jackson with 13.7 and 12.5 points per game. Hayes is also contributing a team-best 8.5 rebounds per contest as well as 30 blocks and 26 steals, while Jackson's 52 assists lead the team.

Series History
Dating back to 1983, the Pirates and Bearcats have met 20 times with ECU holding a 12-8 margin, including winning the last three in the series. Last time out it was a 68-57 road win for the Pirates led by Taniyah Thompson with 22 points and eight assists.
