Pirates Head to Blacksburg for Hokie Invite
January 19, 2023 | Track & Field
GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina track & field program will travel to Blacksburg, Va. on Friday and Saturday for their second meet of 2023 at the Hokie Invitational.
"It's really nice to have one track meet under our belts," said Director of Track & Field Curt Kraft. "Last week was a great starting point, now we have to compete and get some results this weekend. It's always nice to go up against ACC competition. The schools we will see this weekend, I am confident will bring out the best in both of our programs."
The meet is the first of two for the Pirates at Virginia Tech with the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Meet coming up Feb. 3-4.
Â
"This indoor track and field season goes by very fast, that's why it's really important to take advantage of every opportunity," continued Kraft. "It's very important that we see improvement each and every weekend, leading up to our conference indoor championships. As a coaching staff we are always looking for consistency in performances from week to week. You can't wait until the conference championships to prove that you can do something"
