GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team will continue AAC play as they travel to face the Memphis Tigers on Tuesday at Elma Roane Fieldhouse. The game will tip off at 8 p.m. EST and will be streaming on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Pirates fell in their conference opener last time out. Amiya Joyner starred with 16 points and 16 rebounds as the team made a tremendous comeback effort late, cutting a 17-point deficit to just four with three minutes to play. ECU ran out of steam however, and Temira Poindexter did what she does with 20 points for the Golden Hurricane with an eight-point final margin.

Scouting Memphis
Memphis has opened their season with an 8-6 record, including losses to then No. 1 South Carolina and No. 6/5 Indiana. The Tigers had a three-game winning streak going before dropping their conference opener on the road at Temple, 80-69. The team has shot the ball well as a group, hitting over 35 percent from three with 82 makes on the year and a 74.3 points-per-game average.

Jamira Shutes and Madison Griggs lead Memphis in scoring with 15.0 and 13.1 points per game, respectively. Shutes is also second on the team with 31 assists. Hannah Riddick leads the team with 5.7 rebounds while Jada Wright has 17 blocks to go with 4.7 boards per game.

Series History
ECU holds a narrow margin in the all-time series, 19-17, dating back to 2002 thanks to six-straight wins starting in Feb. 2019. Coach Kim McNeill is 5-0 against the Tigers with the latest win coming last season in Greenville, 68-38. Taniyah Thompson dropped 26 in the game while Synia Johnson added 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
