TAMPA, Fla. – The East Carolina men's basketball team is set for a rematch at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night when the Pirates face the South Florida Bulls at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.

Craig Porter Jr. scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting as Wichita State defeated East Carolina 85-72 on Sunday afternoon at Williams Arena in Minges Coliseum. RJ Felton recorded a game-high 22 points for the Pirates (11-11, 2-7 AAC) who were never able to recover from a lackadaisical start on both ends of the floor. Benjamin Bayela turned in his best performance as a Pirate with 18 points off the bench on 6-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. Quentin Diboundje added 12 points and five rebounds. The Pirates allowed the most points in the first half of this season to an opponent (49 points) while turning in one of its worst offensive first halves of the season (28 points) on Sunday against the Shockers.

Scouting the Bulls
South Florida is coming off a narrow 82-80 loss on the road at the hands of SMU on Sunday afternoon. Tyler Harris led all scorers with 23 points and Russel Tchewa recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort. Harris leads the Bulls in scoring with 16.8 points per game and is South Florida top weapon from downtown with 65 threes made on the season (1st in the AAC). Harris' scoring mark is sixth best in the AAC and the guard has had six games where he has scored at least 20 points. Tchewa is third in the AAC in rebounds per game at 7.8.

South Florida leads the series with East Carolina 13-11 and has won six of the nine meetings in Tampa. South Florida has an 9-8 edge over the Pirates when the two teams have met as AAC foes. After the Pirates swept the regular season with the Bulls last season, the Bulls are seeking to return the favor on Wednesday. South Florida defeated ECU 81-70 on Jan. 15 in Greenville.
