GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team hosts the Hampton Lady Pirates for the program's annual Education Day at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in Minges Coliseum. The game will also be available for streaming on ESPN+ with Evan Budrovich and Brittany Hoyt on the call.

Last Time Out
The Pirates dropped a pair of contests at the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Invitational a week ago. The second game of the week was a battle with Seton Hall in which a 21-2 run over the first and second quarters proved to be the difference for Seton Hall. Danae McNeal scored 17 points in the game but shot just 7-17 from the field as the Pirates were unable to find enough offense to overcome a subpar defensive outing.

Scouting Hampton
The Hampton Pirates have gotten off to nightmarish start with an 0-5 record, though the team has played such opponents as Providence, North Carolina and New Mexico State. Camryn Hill is the team's long double-digit scorer with 13.4 on the season so far.

Series History
East Carolina and Hampton have met nine times previously with a 7-2 ECU edge in the series dating back to 1985, including a thriller last season in which Amiya Joyner scored with just seconds remaining to win the game before Synia Johnson forced a turnover on Hampton's last-gasp effort to seal the deal.

You aren't imagining it: in Division I, there are three Pirate nicknamed teams: East Carolina, Seton Hall, and Hampton. All three of those teams have indeed featured in ECU's last two games.
