Scouting Coppin State
The Eagles have had an up and down start to their season, recording a blowout win at Saint Francis, road wins at Florida International and Pitt, but dropping their last two contests at home against George Mason and on the road against Kent State. The Eagles are led by a two-headed monster of Faith Blackstone who averages 14.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and Laila Lawrence who is putting up 14.3 and 8.4. The duo has also combined for 14 steals and 14 blocks on the year.
Â
Series History
The Pirates and Eagles have met five times over the years with ECU taking the last four after dropping the inaugural matchup in 1993. The team's last met in 2021 with a 75-44 margin. Coincidentally, Danae McNeal led all scorers in that game with 13 points along with 12 apiece from Taniyah Thompson and Tiara Chambers.
