Last Time Out
The Pirates shook off a horrendous first half to blow by Maryland Eastern Shore going into the finals break. The Pirates outscored the Hawks 51-26 in the second half, including 30-11 in the third quarter alone. Danae McNeal led all scorers with 34 points in the game along with four steals while Amiya Joyner and Micah Dennis both scored in double figures as well. Joyner also put up nine rebounds and Dennis snatched a career high five steals to go with six assists.

Scouting George Mason
The Patriots had a minor hiccup against Maryland on Dec. 3 but have otherwise been on an absolute tear with their 8-1 record and have been dominant along the way with an average scoring margin of +19.0, The Patriots have five players scoring over 9.5 points per game and have six players grabbing over 4.5 rebounds per contest. There is no one area where the team is particularly vulnerable and as a result they find themselves in tremendous position nine games into the season.

Series History
The Pirates and Patriots have a long history dating back to the first meeting in 1980. ECU leads the series 26-22 overall, with a majority of the competition coming before the turn of the millennium. The Patriots took the last meeting a season ago, 54-41. Synia Johnson and Danae McNeal were the only Pirates to even score over six points in the game with 13 and 10 apiece.
Milestone Watch
There are two major milestones which are reasonably attainable for the Pirates on Monday night: Synia Johnson is just two points away from 500 for her career and Danae McNeal is just 27 away from 1,000 for her career, including her time at Clemson. McNeal is currently 20th in the NCAA with 20.9 points per game.
