
ECU Battles Radford And Virginia Tech In Blacksburg

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina looks to get back in the win column this weekend when it heads up to Blacksburg for two matches against Commonwealth opponents Radford and Virginia Tech at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center

The Pirates (2-3) are set to take on the Highlanders Saturday (Feb. 11) at 10 a.m. before facing off with the host Hokies Sunday (Feb. 12) at 3 p.m.

ECU went up against Georgetown in its last outing, dropping a tight 4-3 decision in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Pirates lost the doubles point, but captured three of the first four singles bouts to grab a 3-2 advantage. The Hoyas recovered to win on courts five and six to snag the win.

Martina Muzzolon and Ines Bachir each picked up singles wins against Georgetown to record their third victories of the spring and move to 3-1 and 3-2 respectively. Bachir and Alisha Hussain improved to 4-1 in doubles action with a win on court one.

Radford (0-3) seeks its first win of the campaign having suffered setbacks to Richmond, Virginia Tech and UNC Greensboro, while Virginia Tech (5-0) has yet to lose, defeating Queens University, East Tennessee State, Davidson and Richmond in addition to the Highlanders.
