GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team returns to the road as they take on the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Pirates used got out to a fast start and closed hard to take down Wichita State last time out. Amiya Joyner was fantastic again with 21 points, 10 boards and three blocks. Danae McNeal added 22 points and five steals on the day. The Pirates closed the game on a 20-8 run.
Scouting Cincinnati
The Bearcats have struggled mightily on the season, but have shown life of late, winning two of their last three contests over Tulane and Temple, both on the road. Cincinnati now stands at 9-15 on the season entering Wednesday's contest.
Jillian Hayes and Mya Jackson lead the Bearcats in scoring with 13.1 and 11.8 points, respectively. Hayes also leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game and 36 blocks.
Series History
The Pirates lead the all-time series with Cincinnati 13-8, including a run of four-straight wins dating back to 2020. ECU took the last matchup on Jan. 18 in Minges Coliseum. Joyner had a double-double with 18/10 while McNeal added 18 points, six steals and three blocks.
