
Pirates Set To Compete At AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – The East Carolina women's golf team is set to compete in the American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par-72, 6,289-yards Southern Hills Golf Club beginning on Monday, April 17.

Tee times for the three-day, 54-hole tournament will begin on Monday between 8-8:34 a.m. (ET) off the first tee with No. 1 seed UCF and No. 2 seed SMU starting things off. The No. 8 seed Pirates will tee off with No. 7 seed Memphis between 10:07 a.m. and 10:41 a.m. The third and final round will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Pirates are led by Oda Sofie Kilsti's scoring average of 73.40 and Kilsti along with Danielle Modder and Marta Perez have carded two top five finishes each. Modder and Perez have a team-best lowest round of 5-under par 67 in the Ironwood Invitational and Pirate Collegiate Classic respectively. ECU's best round as a team this season was in the fall, when the Pirates carded a 7-under par 281 in the second round of the Pirate Collegiate Classic. ECU finished eighth in last year's AAC Championship with a final card of 58-over par 922.
The lineup for ECU on Monday will be Macie Burcham (10:07 a.m. tee time), Perez (10:16 a.m. tee time), Andrea Miralles Llopis (10:24 a.m. tee time), Modder (10:33 a.m. tee time) and Kilsti (10:41 a.m. tee time).
ECU faces a strong field as UCF enters the 2023 American Women's Golf Championship slotted 20th in the latest Golfstat team rankings from April 12 to pace the conference. Tulsa (36), Houston (37), South Florida (56) and Tulane (60) are also ranked in the team top 100.
