
ECU Announces 2023-24 Dance Team

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina University Department of Athletics is proud to announce the dancers who will make up the 2023-24 ECU Dance Team, which was determined by auditions held on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

The 2023-24 ECU Dance Team consists of a diverse squad of 20 dancers, featuring 12 returnees and eight newcomers. Performing as a part of the squad again will be Julianna Amundson (Greenville), Kinsley Barclay (Salisbury), Madelyn Brook (Mount Royal, N.J.), Caroline Campbell (Harrisonburg, Va.), McKenzie Denis (Charlotte), Jaden Eubanks (Belmont), Courtney Gentry (Roxboro), Taylor Green (Holly Springs), Chloe Hampton (Oak Ridge), Allison Lander (Denver), Audrey Sams (Stafford, Va.), Katie Starns (Maiden). Joining the veterans are eight incoming freshman Caroline Barlow (Kannapolis), Jalon Blackwell (Hendersonville), Kaylee Chavis (Lumberton), Morgan Kuss (Suffern, N.Y.), Maci Norton (Belmont), Natalie Turner (Wilmington), Gracie Vest (West End), Kaitlyn Vlacich (Long Island, N.Y.).Â

Each dancer was judged on technical skills, jazz, hip-hop, and pom routines along with a personal interview.

"We are always excited to select new members to join our program and to welcome them to Pirate Nation," head coach Kristin Jeffries said. "Once again, this year's tryouts were outstanding making the selection process competitive and challenging. The hard work and enthusiasm shown from these dancers during auditions was incredible. I am looking forward to being able to showcase the team's talents and school spirit at our athletic and community events this year."
