BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The East Carolina cross country team competed at the Paul Short Run on Saturday with the Pirate men taking 41st in the 8K Gold Race while the women earned an ninth-place finish in the 6K Brown Race.

The Pirate men, competing in a large and talented field, were led by Alex Sawyer with a time of 25:02.6, finishing 96th. Sawyer was joined in the scoring by a tight pack of Colin McCauley (306th), J Henry Lyon (308th), Elliott Kleckner (312th) and Ted Sielatycki (319th).

On the women's side, Alyssa Zack led the way once again with a 17th-place result in 22:23.4. Zach was joined in scoring by Lily Schlossberg (54th), Hayley Whoolery (73rd), Claire Cashman (105th) and Navaya Zales (132nd)
