Pirates Host Dill Family Invitational Friday
October 01, 2026 | Cross Country
GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina cross country returns to Greenville on Friday to host the Dill Family Invitational at Lake Kristi. Â
The meet marks ECU's third competition of the 2026 season and the Pirates' first home meet. The Dill Family Foundation Invitational gives both the men's and women's squads a chance to compete on their home course as they prepare for the rest of the season. Â
The Pirates then traveled to Cary for the Adidas XC Challenge on Sept. 18. ECU's women placed 11th in the field, while the men's race was recorded as a DNF. Â
Friday's meet gives ECU another chance to test itself against regional competition while building toward the American Conference Championship on Oct. 31 in New Orleans. Â
The Pirates will compete at Lake Kristi, the home course for the ECU men's and women's cross country programs. The course is mostly grass, with rolling hills and turns, and has previously hosted NCAA Regional and conference championship meets. Â
The Dill Family Invitational is scheduled for Friday, October 2, with the women's 6k set for 10:00 a.m. ET and the men's 8k following at 10:45 a.m. ET. Â Â
