CHARLESTON, S.C. – Despite winning the doubles point for the second time in three matches this season Sunday morning, East Carolina faltered in singles play as host College of Charleston picked up a 6-1 victory at Patriots Point.
Â
The Pirates will attempt to collect their first win of the campaign when they travel to Durham Feb. 3 for a 1 p.m. meeting with N.C. Central at the Younge Tennis Courts.
Â
ECU excelled in doubles play, emerging victorious on courts two and three. Ines Bachir and Martina Muzzolon both pushed their opponents to three sets at the No. 1 and No. 2 position in singles but could not quite finish the job as the Cougars ended up winning all six bouts.
