GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team will get a crack at one of the hottest teams in the AAC on Thursday as they play host to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in Minges Coliseum. The game is slated for 6 p.m. tipoff and for fans unable to attend will be available for streaming on ESPN+ with Evan Budrovich and Debbie Taylor on the call.
Â
Thursday's contest will also be the Pirates' annual Black History Day.

Last Time Out
The Pirates return home after splitting their Florida swing 1-1 with Florida Atlantic and South Florida. The Pirates led at the half on Sunday but struggled for 14 points in the second half as USF pulled away for the win. Danae McNeal was brilliant in the first half of the game, on her way to 25 points, nine rebounds and three steals in the game, but ran out of steam in the second half with ECU unable to find effective offense elsewhere.

Scouting Tulsa
The Golden Hurricane enter the game with a full head of steam, winning their last four games including an impressive one on the road at Charlotte last time out. Tulsa is now 16-5 on the year and second in the American Athletic Conference Standing. A large part of the team's success is the brilliance of their dynamic duo: Temira Poindexter and Delanie Crawford. Both players are averaging a whisker under 20 points per game and grabbing better than five rebounds per contest. Additionally, Poindexter has racked up 30 blocks on the year and the pair have put up 41 steals combined.
Â
Series History
The Pirates and Golden Hurricane have met 28 times since 2006 with a 16-12 Tulsa lead, including a 55-47 ballgame in Minges last season. Amiya Joyner led the Pirates with 16 points and 16 rebounds in the game, but it proved not to be enough to combat Temira Poindexter's 20-point day.
