
Game Times Set For 2024 Purple-Gold World Series

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina baseball program concludes its fall practice slate this weekend with the annual Purple-Gold World Series inside Lewis Field at Clark-LeClair Stadium.

The Pirates play the first of two seven-inning intra-squad scrimmages Friday, Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m., followed by game two Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission is free of charge.

Seniors Ryley Johnson and Jake Hunter will serve as team captains for the series and will draft their respective squads during the week. Team rosters will be announced via ECU's social media channels (X and Instagram).

About East Carolina (2024)
• Eighth NCAA Regional appearance under Head Coach Cliff Godwin (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024)

• Won 12 of 14 weekend series while recording seven sweeps.
• Welcomed the two largest crowds in Clark-LeClair Stadium history (April 23/NC State/6,054) (Feb. 25/North Carolina/6,017) as well as the fourth largest (April 13/Charlotte/5,998).
• Compiled a 3.57 team GPA for the spring semester, marking the 14th-straight semester that the Pirates have posted a 3.40 or better mark.
• Captured the American Athletic Conference Baseball Team Academic Excellence Award and ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for the ninth-straight season.
