GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team will go on the road to take on No. 1 South Carolina on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Colonial Life Arena. The game will be available for streaming on SECN+.

Last Time Out
The Pirates used a 20-3 run in the second half to run away from Furman for a 16-point home win. Jayla Hearp led the team in scoring once again with 14 points to go with five steals, making her the first ECU player not named Danae McNeal with double-figure scoring and five steals since Micah Dennis on Dec. 4, 2023. MyMy Joyner led the team with 10 rebounds while Khia Miller had an important 10 points with a pair of made triples.

Scouting South Carolina
The unanimous No. 1 Gamecocks are as good as ever coming off of third NCAA Championship. So far on the new year, Chloe Kitts paces three players in double figures with 19.0 per game while MiLaysia Fulwiley and Te-Hina Paopao are both contributing 15.0 per. Kitts also leads the group with a dozen rebounds per game.

Series History
The Pirates and Gamecocks have a lengthy history with a 16-2 edge for South Carolina including a 79-54 win in the 1982 NCAA Tournament and a 73-36 victory in Minges Coliseum last season. Kamilla Cardoso and MiLaysia Fulwiley led all scorers with 12 apiece in that one. Cardoso registered a double-double with 10 boards as well.
