GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team is set to host the Elon Phoenix for the program's annual Diabetes Awareness Game on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Minges Coliseum. Tickets are still available for purchase and for those unable to attend, the game will be available for streaming on ESPN+ with Patrick Johnson and Brittany Hoyt on the call.

Last Time Out
The Pirates had 22 turnovers to 20 made field goals in a difficult 15-point loss at UNLV on Black Friday in their last game. Amiya Joyner was the only Pirate in double figures scoring with 11 points and a team-best five rebounds along with Synia Johnson who also had five. UNLV was a potent offensive squad as expected with a .481 clip from the field, including .389 from three-point range.

Scouting Elon
The Phoenix enter with a 4-3 record after dropping a narrow contest, 61-57 to Furman last time out. For the year, Raven Preston leads the squad scoring and rebounding with 14.1 points and 9.6 boards per game. Laila Anderson and Jayda Angel also score in double figures for the Phoenix with 12.1 and 11.0 per game, respectively.

Series History
The Pirates and Phoenix have met a dozen times since their first meeting back in 1973 with a 10-2 edge to East Carolina, including a 68-37 victory on the road last season. Danae McNeal and Amiya Joyner led the charge with a 22-point, five-rebound, four-steal outing for McNeal and a 16-point, seven-rebound day for Joyner.
