GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team heads to Houston, Texas on Wednesday to take on the Rice Owls in Tudor Fieldhouse. The game will tip of at 8 p.m. ET and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Pirates led from start to finish after jumping out to a 12-0 lead against Charlotte on Saturday. Danae McNeal and Amiya Joyner were dominant in the game with 20 points, 8 rebounds, six assists and five blocks and 24 points and 13 rebounds on 11-15 from the field, respectively. The Pirates shot 50 percent from the field, out rebounded Charlotte 39-28 and led by as many as 22 in the win.

Scouting Charlotte
The Owls' season has been a roller coaster ride since the teams' first meeting of the year. A road win at Tulane was followed by a pair of losses then a string of win-loss-win to enter Wednesday with a 14-9 record and still just a game off of the conference lead at 8-4 in league play. The team has three players scoring in double figures on the year and Malia Fisher enters the game averaging nearly 11 points and seven rebounds per contest.

Series History
It had been a while since the teams met when they came together in Greenville in January, but the series is now fresh and the Pirates will be chasing revenge. Rice won that game, 80-67, after hitting nine three-point shots and shooting 50 percent from the field. Four Owls scored in double figures and the Pirates looked like a team looking for answers. It will be a much different, more cohesive unit traveling to Houston on Wednesday.
