GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team is set to venture to Dallas, Texas to take on the SMU Mustangs on Saturday. The game is set for a 3 p.m. ET tip off, streaming on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
The Pirates were frustrated by South Florida on Saturday as they were unable to capitalize on thrice cutting the deficit to one point before the Bulls finally pulled away for a double-digit win. MyMy Joyner was a bright spot once again with a 23-point double-double while Danae McNeal led all scorers with 25 points. However, USF was able to post 26 assists on 32 made shots while only turning the ball over nine times in the game.

Scouting South Florida
The Mustangs enter the game with ever-important momentum. In the wildly close American Athletic Conference race, SMU has won their last two and three of their last four games to get to 7-7 in league play. With a bye-game on the line, Saturday's contest becomes incredibly important. To win, the Pirates will need to slow down the big three of Tiara Young, Chantae Embry and Amirah Abdur-Rahim who all score in double figures and all average more than five rebounds per game.

Series History
The series between the Pirates and Bulls has been a close one over the years with a 16-13 margin for ECU all time. East Carolina took the first meeting of the season at home on Jan. 20, Danae McNeal dropped a career high 35 points in the contest while Karina Gordon contributed nine points and six steals.
