
Pirates Finish Fourth At Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational

Eatonton, Ga. āĀ The East Carolina women's golf team finished strong in the final round of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, shooting 2-under par 286 to finish fourth (33-over par 897) for the tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The three-day tournament was held at the par-72, 6,107-yard Great Waters Golf Course.

The Pirates were led by Macie Burcham, who carded a 7-over par 223 for a career-best finish with a ninth-place tie. Marta Perez tied for 12th after shooting 8-over par 224 and Nicole Nash shot 9-over par 225 to tie for 15th.

"Proud of our final round play," director of golf Kevin Williams said. "We really struggled in the windy conditions the first two rounds but came out with a lot of fight and played with more confidence."

Ella Stalvey and Danielle Modder tied for 23rd and 43rd respectively while Andrea Miralles tied for 49th as an individual.

Host Mercer took team honors (1-under par 863) followed by Western Kentucky (25-over par 889) and Chattanooga (32-over 896), who finished one stroke ahead of the Pirates.

East Carolina returns to the course on Mar. 4-5 as the Pirates will compete in the River Landing Invitational hosted by UNC Wilmington at River Landing Country Club.
