San Antonio, Texas – The East Carolina men's basketball team is set to return to the hardwood in search of snapping a two-game losing skid this weekend when the Pirates visit UTSA at the Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon.

The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. ET tip and will be televised on ESPNU. Saturday's game can also be heard on the ECU Sports Network 107.9 FM or 9.43 The Game with Daron Vaught (play-by-play) and Michael Perry (analyst) handling broadcasting duties.

RJ Felton leads East Carolina with 16.2 points per game (6th in AAC) and is third in the league in steals per game with two. Ezra Ausar and Brandon Johnson round out the Pirates' top scorers with 13.3 and 13.2 points per game respectively. Johnson leads the team on the glass with 8.4 rebounds per contest which ranks as third-best in the league. Bobby Pettiford Jr. leads the Pirates with 3.5 assists per game and is tied for first in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.86 (32nd in NCAA).

RJ Felton scored a game-high 20 points, but it wasn't enough as East Carolina fell to Charlotte 67-52 in front of a sold-out Dale F. Halton Arena on Saturday afternoon. Jaden Walker added nine points and Ezra Ausar scored six for the Pirates (11-12, 4-6 AAC) who only had one scorer in double figures for the first time this season and shot under 40 percent from the floor for the fifth straight game.

Scouting the Roadrunners
UTSA enters Saturday's game on a three-game skid after falling to Wichita State on the road 84-64 on Wednesday night. Dre Fuller Jr. led the Roadrunners with 13 points and Adante' Holiman added 12 points in the loss. The Roadrunners are led in scoring by guard Jordan Ivy-Curry who is averaging 17.8 ppg in just 13 games played this season. Christian Tucker and Carlton Linguard Jr. add 12.2 and 10.2 points per game respectively. UTSA features one of the high-powered offenses in the American, averaging 79.5 ppg (4th in AAC) and lead the conference in threes made by a significant margin at 9.7 per contest and 224 on the year. Per KenPom, the Roadrunners score 35.4 percent of their points from downtown and are one of the faster teams in the country with an adjusted tempo of 70.4.

Series History
East Carolina leads the all-time series with UTSA 2-0 as both teams last clashed back during the 2013-14 season when both schools were members of Conference USA. The Pirates took both meetings, winning 81-71 in Greenville (Feb. 8, 2014) and 79-76 in El Paso (Mar. 11, 2014).

ECU is 8-11 in games played on Feb. 10 since the 1960-61 season with the last game on this date coming during the 2018-19 season when the Pirates fell to South Florida on the road in overtime, 72-68.
