GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's basketball team returns home to take on the Charlotte 49ers on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Minges Coliseum. For fans unable to attend, the game will be available for streaming on ESPN+ with Evan Budrovich and Amanda Poole on the call.

Last Time Out
The Pirates rolled to a 21-point win at Wichita State on Sunday. Danae McNeal and Tatyana Wyche were spectacular in the game. McNeal with 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals, and Wyche becoming the first player in ECU history to record a double-double with seven-or-more blocks in a single game. The Pirates also got 16 points and four made triples from Karina Gordon for the second game in a row.

Scouting Charlotte
The 49ers have quickly established themselves among the American Athletic Conference's elite with a 6-5 conference record, though they did drop a tough home contest to Florida Atlantic last time out. The team has done so being led by a tremendous ballplayer in Dazia Lawrence who is putting up 18.2 points per game to go with nearly four rebounds per game and 40 steals on the season.

Series History
Despite their long history and close proximity, the Pirates and 49ers have not played since Nov. 17, 2019. Charlotte won that contest, 59-47, with Mariah Linney leading all scorers with 20 and Jade Phillips adding a 17-point, 14-rebound double-double. The 49ers also lead the all-time series, 26-10, with the Pirates last taking the win in November 2017.
