
Felton Named To AAC All-Conference Third Team

IRVING, Texas – East Carolina junior guard RJ Felton has been named to the American Athletic Conference All-Conference Third Team according to an announcement by the league office on Tuesday.

The AAC Preseason Second Team member has enjoyed a career season in multiple statistical categories including points per game (17.3), field goal shooting (43.8 percent), three-point shooting (36.3 percent), free throw shooting (80.5 percent), rebounds per game (6.2) and steals per game (1.8) to help lead the Pirates to their most-ever conference wins (seven) in the American since joining the league in 2014-15.

Earlier this season, Felton became the first Pirate since former Pirate and NBA player Theodore "Blue" Edwards in 1989 to score 30 or more points in back-to-back games with his 30 points against Campbell and a career-high 33 points against USC Upstate. Felton has registered 28 points in each of his last two games and has scored 10 or more points in 23 straight contests.Â

The Aiken, S.C. native became the 34th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark with the Pirates on Feb. 18 in ECU's 81-67 win over Tulane. He is also on pace to score the sixth-most points in a single season by a Pirate player as he currently has 535 points on the season and have the sixth highest steals per game in a season at ECU with 1.8 along with teammate Brandon Johnson.

Felton and the Pirates begin play at the American Athletic Conference Championship on Thursday, Mar. 14 against Tulsa at 12:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU inside Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
